This will be your one and only pecan pie recipe you need! It is delicious and moist and has a the best flavor..... it has a secret ingredient that makes it just the best pecan pie you've ever had- EVER! If you have never had a Goode's pecan pie, you really haven't had pecan pie.... yea it's that "goode". I'm a huge fan of pecan pie and fell in love with the first bite. Now you can too

So the secret ingredient is- Drum roll please..... vinegar. I don't know what it does, but it makes it perfectly sweet! Wait no longer here is the recipe for the world renown Goode's pecan pie. This pie is simply delicious and just in time to make for your thanksgiving dinner. We are starting to make our pies in just 2 days!!! We also have a fool proof {15 minutes from start to finish} pie crust recipe.

 Goode's Pecan Pie Recipe

3 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup white karo
3 tblsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp white vinegar
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup chopped pecans

Mix all ingredients thoroughly, except the pecans. Add the pecans and pour in the mixture into a unbaked pie shell. Preheat oven to 375 and bake for 25-30 minutes. Testing for doneness with a knife inserted in the center. Pie is done when knife comes out clean.

****Note: I had Goode's pie over a year ago and recently went back to Houston last month and had their pecan pie again. There pie is quite gooey in the center, but not runny and is still done. If you want a firmer filling center {like typical pecan pies} you will want to cook yours for 45-50 minutes.

Day 3: Red Hot Cinnamon Roll Recipe with red hot glaze

To contact us Click HERE

I have been waiting forever to share this delicious recipe with you! Red Hot Cinnamon Rolls! Yes RED HOT cinnamon rolls. It's a twist on the traditional cinnamon roll. If you like cinnamon bears, red hots and other cinnamon flavored candies you will LOVE this recipe!

I was at my parents house for Sunday dinner and my Mom made homemade rolls for dinner and had a little extra dough left over, so each of the grandkids got a little bit to play with and make into a dessert roll of sorts. Then like a flash it hit me..... why don't you make cinnamon rolls with different type of cinnamon- with RED HOTS!!! I didn't know if it would work or even taste good or if it the red hots would be hard as rocks after cooking. No one thought they would be any good and doubted if it was possible.

The only problem was I had no dough.... I begged for a little piece of each of the grandkids and promised in return to make them something extra special with their dough. I made 2 small red hot cinnamon rolls..... and they were devoured! IN SECONDS after I tried them. My doubts about the red hots being too hard didn't happen. They were almost all the way melted so it just gave them a little crunch, but not like eating a regular red hot. You simply have to try it. It's beyond words how good these are.

So here are a step by step tutorial on how to make them! It's a great neighbor gift to give hot out of the oven!

First make your dough. You can use any recipe you want!

Now put some flour down before you roll out the dough so it doesn't stick to your countertop.

Spread butter.... Lots and lots of butter as this helps it be all googie and delicious

Now sprinkle sugar on top.... Don't skip on this step either. The combo of the butter and sugar makes a sugar glaze inside that makes these out of this world

Now add the the guest of honor... RED HOTS. The more you put on the more flavor you will have and will melt into the googy photo above!

Now you can roll it like a normal cinnamon roll or make Red Hot Cinnamon flaky rolls or pull apart bread. See see below how to make the different types.

For the flakey rolls and pull apart bread cut the dough into rectangles. Now stack them on top of each other, but the last one flip it over so the sugar and butter are sandwiched in between so you keep all of the deliciousness inside your roll. Don't worry these don't have to be perfect. I like cutting with my cutco steak knife, but any knife will work.... even a butter knife.

To make the flakey cinnamon rolls I like to stack 4-5 squares at least in one regular sized cupcake tin.

Just place the squares in the cupcake tin so you can see the layers. Then softly poke the outside to fill the tin. If there is too many squares you can take on one out or add another one in if it doesn't fill it completely. For the pull apart bread do the same thing but fill an entire bread pan. You will need about 15-20 squares depending on how tick your dough is.
I made these in foil tins so I could deliver directly out of the oven!

Here are the pull apart bread and flaky rolls just after them came out of the oven.

Add our Red Hot glaze and your finished!

Now for the glaze...... feast your eyes and ohhh it smelled so good!

Glaze recipe:
1 cup cinnamon red hots
3/4 cup water
1/8 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter

Melt red hots in boiling water. When almost melted add sugar and butter. The red hots will boil and start spreading the most wonderful smell throughout your house that will bring everyone to the kitchen immediately!  Pour over immediately as it will harden like candy. The glaze will harden, still soft. It's not hard like hard candy, but not soft enough to pull out any fillings. It's the perfect balance that you find in great caramels and such.

****Please note this cools quickly and has to be glazed over immediately. I can't be reheated so have the rolls out and ready before you make this or have a minute or 2 left on the clock.

Enjoy!!!!

Day 4 Popsicle Stick Snowflakes

Day 4 is popsicle snowflakes. I first thought these would be beautiful on a mantel with with the extra pine branches from your tree that you get cut off for a rustic christmas, but my mantel just wasn't looking right with it..... so I took them outside (as it just snowed a couple minutes ago and everything looks beautiful out there!)

As I was taking photos..... my mind start racing with the possibilities out side to create the most magical rustic wonderland! It would be beautiful for Christmas or a wedding! Popsicle snowflakes look amazing hanging from trees

Enchanting in your snow dusted bushes- great because the won't get ruined by a moisture of the snow!

Or place each one on a stick and into a bucket and line your walkway!

Then I took a photo of them in the snow just for fun and this is what happening! It left the coolest and most delicate imprint of the popsicle snowflake. (It looks raised in the photo, but it leaves an embossed look)

Day 5: DIY Ho Ho Ho Ribbon

To contact us Click HERE

Day 5 is Ho Ho Ho DIY Ribbon. You can make it out of any martial. Crepe paper streamers, ribbon (wired and not wired) any any width. The large Ho Ho Ho ribbon is out of 3" wide ribbon while the little is normal 1.5" ribbon.

Use to decorate your tree or a special package!

I wanted to show you how it looks like from ribbon to cut out Ho Ho Ho ribbon.

Now the unveiling of how to make  to make your packages a bit more glamourous and beautiful this year!
I freehanded mine, but if you are uncomfortable you can print and cut these out as a guide.

First fold your ribbon back and forth (zig zagged)

Then, start carving out. I like to start with the "H" as they are straight lines and easy to measure. I like to do one side at a time and then do the top next.

Then carve out the "O" curves.... Remember to leave a little bit at the top so it stays attached. Then cut out a half circle at the end to create the inner part of the "O"

Unfold and your done or fold another section and repeat the steps to continue your garland/ streamer

The ribbon can be striped, polka dotted or even sequence ribbon (like what we did for the large 3" Ho Ho Ho)

{real party} Milesasaurus' Dino-Mite Shindig!

To contact us Click HERE
ROAR!  That is a word (or noise) I hear frequently in my house, so what better theme for a birthday party?  To say Miles is obsessed with dinosaurs would be an understatement.  He eats and sleeps dinosaurs.  No, really... he does.  He eats all things dinosaur shaped and sleeps with approximately 6 dinosaurs each night. The party printables were originally inspired by this party, but made by myself and will be in my Etsy shop soon if you're interested in your very own customized set.  Anywho, let's get onto the party details. The Decor-- balloons threaded onto embroidery floss and pinned to the wall with a thumb tack.  Fast, easy, and cheap.  Idea originally seen here.
The Party Printables-- made by muah and printed at Staples for $12.  That's right, twelve dollars!  Highly recommend Staples for printing. Dinosaur Chocolate Lollipops--I had some left over white chocolate wafers from Christmas time and used some blue gel paste.  I bought this lollipop mold for $2.50 and I just KNOW I will be using it again in the future.Dinosaur Foot Prints-- Thanks to my cute hubby for cutting these prints out.  My little boy absolutely LOVED this idea and kept looking out the window at them through-out the day.The FoodCarnivore Food:  Ceratops Chili, Dinosaur Shaped Chicken NuggetsSweetivore Food: Dinosaur Fruit Snacks, Tyranosaurus Rex Track Cookies, Velociraptor Vanilla Cupcakes, and Blue Chocolate Dino-PopsHerbivore Food: Rhondadon Rolls and Stegasaurus SaladThat triceratops is looking rather thin and hungry-- look at him drooling over those t-rex foot print cookies.  The footprint cookies are made from a simple sugar cookie recipe, then stamped with one of my son's dinosaur's fooprints, sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar, and baked.  Easy peasy. I got these wooden dinosaur skeleton statues at Harbor & Frieght, believe it or not. $2/set= $6 total for all three-- not a bad deal and my husband loved putting them together for the party. To Drink: Volcanic Lava Juice (Capri Suns) and water for the adults
The Fun-- nothing says more fun than banging around a stick at a dinosaur pinata. The Party Favors-- Dinosaur straw cups, dino-crayons, dino-bubbles, slinkies, and magnetic dino-buddiesAll in all, it was one fun night!  Miles walked away with some new dinosaur toys and I walked away 5 lbs heavier from all the yummy cupcakes. THE COSTI'm a strong believer that parties can be done classy, but on the cheap.  However, I understand that doing it cheaply is only doable if you have some of the basics already at home. So let's add up where the money was spent:Printables--$12 (from Staples-- I think they quoted me at $.49/page with me providing my own paper)Wooden Dinosaur Skeletons-- $6.00 (from Harbor & Frieght)Party Favor Bags (10 bags & loot inside)--                  $2.50(Brown bags from Michaels)                 $15(Dinosaur Straw Cups from Albertsons)                 $5(Slinkies half -off at Michaels)                 $3.50(Dinosaur Crayons from Party City)                 $4.5 (Dinosaur Balloons from Party City)                 $8(Plush Magnetic Dinosaur Buddies from Michaels at 75% off)        Total: $38.50 ($3.85/party favor bag)Balloons & Brown Table Covering--$4Pinata--$12Lolli-Pop Mold--$2.50 Food--(this is the list of what I had to buy at the store-- everything else needed for our dinner I had already at home just laying around)                  $1.49 (Capri Suns)                  $3.99 (Water)                  $2.99 (1lb Ground Beef)                  $3.99 (1lb Ground Maple Sausage)                  $1.5 (Sour Cream)                   $4.99 (Tomato Juice)                  $.80x4 (Beans-- Pinto, Kidney, Black)                  $5.00 (Rolls-- I was going to do homemade, but ran out of time)                  $1.50 (Romaine Lettuce Bag)                  $.75 (Iceburg Lettuce Head)                  $1.50 (Cream Cheese)                  $2.50 (Slivered Almonds)                  $5.99 (Candy Bag for Pinata)                  $5.50 (Frozen Dino-Nuggets)                  $3.00 (Dinosaur Fruit Snacks)                  $2.50 (Unsalted Butter)                  $1.50 (Powdered Sugar)         Total: $51.89 to feed 7 adults, 2 tweeners, and 9 kids ($2.88/person)TOTAL of the WHOLE PARTY-- $126.89Not a bad price-tag!  The bank was not broke, the kids had a blast, and mommy is now going to take a nap.  Phew!
